  This museum provides an insightful history of Macau, lots of exhibits and artefacts on display. Surprised about how far the Portuguese presence dates back.

  It is quite cheap to enter. It also offers a shortcut to the top of the hill. The exhibition is about the history of Macau and its mixture of Cantonese and Portuguese cultures. The third floor also has a exhibition about a cargo ship sunk in Song Dynasty. The air conditioning is a life saver in summer. Worth a visit since it’s too hot outside.

  A charming museum with some vivid and imaginative displays which make it a pleasure to spend a few hours learning about the history of Macao. The entrance exhibit showing the comparative development of Chinese and European civilization up until regular contacts were established is fascinating. Entertaining and educational, well worth seeing. Calculate 3 hours for the visit.

  A nice and hi-tech small-medium sized museum. Had a lot of interesting stories on Macao's trading route that was presented in a very interesting way and definitely can capture young kids as well as adults. The plus is at the end, when you reached the top, you reached the top of the fortress too, so you don't have to walk up to see it separately. The only big minus is the restroom - at the fortress site, it's so smelly and had no toilet paper. So we had to go back inside the museum to use the restroom. But since the smelly ones is not in the museum, I didn't deduct the star from the museum.

  Really fantastic museum that was free on the day that I visited. Its very well laid out with great information and a ride range of ways of displaying the information from interactive things to maps, to animals to large displays and models. The location is also great on top of the hill forte with the cannons dotted around, nice landscaping and a great view of the city.
